The Flood Forecast Monitoring Directorate said the increase in the river level has been gradual and that the water level is currently showing a declining trend. The commission also noted that the magnitude of the rise is significantly lower than previous levels. District Magistrate Mahendra Singh Tanwar , through an order dated August 25, constituted a three-member committee to conduct documentary and on-site verification of the complaints and submit its report within seven days. The committee is headed by SDM Kasya Vivek Kumar Mishra and includes the Assistant Engineer of the Electricity Distribution Division, Kushinagar, and PWD Assistant Engineer Mukesh Verma .
