Kushinagar, Aug 26: The Kushinagar district administration has ordered a probe into 11 allegations concerning development works and procurement of electrical materials at the Kushinagar Municipality, officials said.
District Magistrate Mahendra Singh Tanwar, through an order dated August 25, constituted a three-member committee to conduct documentary and on-site verification of the complaints and submit its report within seven days.
The committee is headed by SDM Kasya Vivek Kumar Mishra and includes the Assistant Engineer of the Electricity Distribution Division, Kushinagar, and PWD Assistant Engineer Mukesh Verma.
The complaint, filed by Rahul Singh, raises questions over alleged irregularities in construction works, including roads, interlocking, drains and beautification projects, besides expenditure, quality, materials, procurement and payments.
The inquiry follows a recent surprise inspection of the municipal office by the SDM. Municipal Chairperson Kiran Jaiswal had subsequently questioned the authority and procedure of the inspection.
The committee has been directed to match official records and expenditure details with the actual condition of works on the ground. The findings are expected to determine the further course of action in the matter.
