The disaster struck on August 26 in the Rasuwa and Dhading areas , with floodwaters and debris surging through the Bhote Koshi-Trishuli river system. The Trishuli River joins the Kali Gandaki at Devghat in Nepal to form the Narayani River , which enters India near Valmikinagar and is known as the Gandak downstream.
