The disaster has killed at least 162 people , while hundreds remain missing, according to the latest reports. The disaster struck on August 26 in the Rasuwa and Dhading areas , with floodwaters and debris surging through the Bhote Koshi-Trishuli river system. A huge mass of mud and rock entered the river, generating a powerful flood that devastated settlements and infrastructure downstream.
