Over 40 Girl Students Hospitalised After Falling Ill During Tiranga Yatra in Deoria

Deoria (Uttar Pradesh): More than 40 girl students were hospitalised after they reportedly complained of dehydration and fell ill during a Tiranga Yatra organised in Deoria on Thursday ahead of Independence Day, officials said.

According to the information available, several students participating in the procession developed health-related complaints and were taken to hospital for medical treatment.


The district administration and health department were alerted following the incident and arrangements were made for the treatment and monitoring of the affected students.

The response was carried out under the direction of Deoria District Magistrate Madhusudan Hulgi, with the Chief Development Officer and health department officials and staff deployed to oversee the situation.


The students are currently under medical observation and receiving necessary treatment, officials said.

The district magistrate reviewed the situation and directed officials to ensure that there was no shortage or delay in medical care for the students.

The district administration said the situation was being closely monitored and health services had been kept active to provide immediate assistance to those affected.
