Kushinagar, August 8: In a major disciplinary action, Kushinagar Superintendent of Police Keshav Kumar has sent 28 police personnel, including an inspector and four sub-inspectors, to the police lines for alleged negligence in the discharge of their duties.

The action was taken late Thursday night following an assessment of the performance and responsibilities assigned to the personnel, according to the police administration.

Among those shifted are Inspector Manoj Pant, in-charge of the Election Cell, and sub-inspectors Santosh Yadav, posted at Hanumanganj; Ajay Singh, posted at Padrauna Kotwali; Rahul Rai, posted at Patherwa; and Nagendra Gaur, posted at Taraya Sujan.

Twenty-three constables serving at different police stations across the district have also been sent to the police lines.

The Superintendent of Police said the action was taken after the personnel were found lacking in the proper discharge of their official responsibilities.

The move is being seen as a firm message from the district police leadership that negligence in official duties will not be tolerated.
